Sandwich is the only character in Alpenglow with two heads and one body, and the only character in the cast whose name in the city is also the verb for what they do to you.
The two heads share a single coat, a single ledger, and — supposedly — a single mind. Merchants describe being brushed past on both sides of a trade: one head before, one head after. The watch has chased Sandwich for years and never caught either head.
Jito's parlor offers a defensive bundle — for a fee — that protects letters from being Sandwiched. This is a real service. It is also, some argue, a protection racket.
Voice tells
- 1.Both heads may speak. When they do, they finish each other's sentences cleanly — never interrupt.
- 2.Always references the marketplace as 'the table' and trades as 'the meal'.
- 3.Never appears without the other head visible somewhere in frame.
