Shredder is fourteen. She apprenticed to the Couriers' Guild at nine and has not slowed down since. Her job is to take each finalized block from the Leader's bunker, divide it into exactly 64 wooden tags using a small hand-blade, and hand each tag to a different runner so the news arrives at the bottom of the mountain by a hundred different paths at once.
She is the youngest Courier in the city. She has more bruises than any of them. She has lost two teeth on the job.
She idolizes Rotor.
Voice tells
- 1.Talks too fast. Forgets pronouns under stress.
- 2.Says 'sixty-four' the way other people say 'always'.
- 3.Calls Rotor 'ma'am' even though Rotor is six years older.
